Maple Squares Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter | 1/2 Cup(16 tbs) | |
| All purpose flour | 1 Cup(16 tbs) | |
| Brown sugar | 1/2 Cup(16 tbs) | |
| Brown sugar | 2/3 Cup(16 tbs) | |
| Maple syrup | 1 Cup(16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 , beaten | |
| Butter | 1/4 Cup(16 tbs), melted | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Nuts | 1/2 Cup(16 tbs), chopped | |
| 1/2 tsp vanilla or maple extract | ||
| Flour | 3 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
Butter a square 8 inch (20.5 cm) baking pan.
In a bowl, mix flour and 1/2 cup (125 mL) brown sugar.
Press over bottom of pan.
Bake in oven 20 minutes.
In a saucepan, mix 2/3 cup (160 mL) brown sugar and maple syrup.
Bring to a boil.
Simmer 5 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Let cool.
Add eggs.
Fold in remaining ingredients.
Pour over first mixture.
Bake in oven 30 minutes.
Let cool.
Cut into squares or use a cookie cutter.
