Maple Lace Wafers Recipe
Ingredients
| Maple syrup | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| All purpose flour | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking soda | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Baking powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Few grains of salt | ||
Directions
Combine syrup and butter in a saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and boil hard for 1/2 minute.
Sift remaining ingredients together and add all at once to syrup mixture, stirring briskly.
Batter will be slightly lumpy.
Drop by half-teaspoons 5 inches apart on greased cookie sheets.
Bake in preheated moderate oven (350°F.) for 6 to 8 minutes.
Allow to cool for about 1 minute.
Remove each wafer carefully from cookie sheet and roll around handle of a wooden spoon.
Place on rack to cool.
Do not bake more than 6 at a time.
If wafers harden too much to handle before removing from cookie sheet, return to oven for a minute.
Store in airtight container.
