Maple Chicken Breasts Recipe

Ingredients

| 1 tbsp powdered mustard | ||
| Chicken breasts | 6 | |
| 4 oz solid pork fat or bacon, sliced | ||
| Onion | 1 , sliced | |
| Maple syrup | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Boiling water | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Ketchup | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vinegar | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Cloves | 3 | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |
| Pinch of thyme | ||
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 °F (160 °C).
Mix butter and mustard.
Brush over chicken breasts.
In a buttered ovenproof dish, place chicken.
Top each breast with a slice of pork fat and a slice of onion.
Coat with maple syrup.
Cook uncovered in oven 90 minutes.
Baste regularly with cooking juices.
Remove chicken from dish.
Keep warm in oven.
Degrease cooking juices.
Deglaze with boiling water.
Add remaining ingredients.
Boil to a thick, smooth sauce.
Pass sauce through a sieve.
Coat chicken.
Cook in oven 5-10 minutes.
