Ingredients

 Cooking oil2 Tablespoon
 Cloves - 3 garlic, minced
 Steak - 2 lbs round or sirloin, cut into thin strips
 Onion1/2 Medium, thinly sliced
 Sweet red pepper1 To taste
 Maple syrup1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Red wine vinegar1/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Soy sauce2 Tablespoon
 Cornstarch2 Tablespoon
 Peas - 3/4 cup, tiny, frozen, thawed
 Almonds1/2 Cup (16 tbs), slivered
 Rice - as required, cooked

Directions

MAKING
1) In large skillet or wok, saute the garlic in the heated oil for 1 minute.
2) Stir in the beef and cook until browned.
3) Stir in the onion and red pepper, then cover and steam for about 7 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
4) In a bowl, mix the syrup, vinegar, soy sauce and cornstarch together, then stir into beef mixture and cook until thickened.
5) Stir in the peas and almonds, then heat thoroughly.

SERVING
6) Serve immediately over a bed of rice.
