Ingredients

 Beef1 pound, chopped
 Meat2 Teaspoon
 Monosodium glutamate
 Soft bread crumbs1 Cup (16 tbs)
 1/2 pound each of ham and pork shoulder, ground
 1/4 cup grated Swiss cheese
 2 tablespoons each of chopped ripe olives and sweet pickles
 1 raw egg
 3 hard-cooked eggs, shelled
 Canned tomato sauce1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Soy sauce1 Teaspoon
 Lemon juice2 Teaspoon
 Onion1 , sliced
 Pinch of sugar
 Salt, pepper, and cayenne

Directions

Mix together beef, meat extract, 1/2 teaspoon monosodium glutamate, and bread crumbs.
For the filling, toss together ham and pork, cheese, olives, pickles, raw egg, a pinch of monosodium glutamate, and salt, pepper, and cayenne to taste.
Oil a loaf pan well.
Make a layer of half of beef mixture, then cover with half of ham filling.
Press hard-cooked eggs halfway into meat, then cover with the balance of ham and, finally, the rest of beef.
Tap the pan smartly a few times, then invert over a greased shallow baking pan and turn out loaf.
Combine tomato sauce with soy sauce and lemon juice.
Pour into baking dish and add onion sliced into rings, pinch of sugar, and salt and pepper to taste.
