Manicotti Recipe
Manicotti is an irresistible recipe that you simply can't resist. Try this Manicotti dish; I am sure you will have a huge fan following for this one!
Ingredients
16 to 18 manicotti (shells)
1 pound lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 envelope spaghetti sauce mix
1 cup water
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 (10 ounce) package frozen spinach, thawed, drained
4 ounces salami, diced
1 teaspoon salt
Dash of freshly ground pepper
Directions
Cook the manicotti a few at a time with 2 teaspoons olive oil in a large amount of boiling salted water just until tender; drain.
Brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic in a large skillet, stirring until beef is crumbly; drain.
Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, spaghetti sauce mix, water and mushrooms to the ground beef mixture; simmer for 20 minutes.
Combine the Parmesan cheese, ricotta cheese, spinach, salami, salt and pepper in a bowl; mix well.
Spoon the cheese mixture into the manicotti tubes.
Spread 1/2 of the ground beef mixture in an 8xl2 inch baking dish.
Arrange the stuffed manicotti over the ground beef layer.
Layer the remaining beef mixture evenly over the manicotti.
Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
