 1 pound meat-loaf mixture
 Onion1 Large, chopped
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced
Soft bread crumbs1 Cup (16 tbs)
 Egg1 , beaten
 Parsley1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Basil leaf1 Teaspoon, crumbled
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Pepper1 Dash

Directions

1. Cook the manicotti noodles in a kettle, as label directs. Drain; cool in a large bowl of cold water.
2. Shape meat-loaf mixture into a large patty in large skillet; brown for 5 minutes on each side; break into small pieces, then remove with a slotted spoon to a medium-size bowl.
3. Saute onion and garlic until soft in drippings in skillet. Add to the cooked meat with bread crumbs, egg, parsley, basil, salt and pepper, mixing until well blended.
4. Lift the manicotti noodles from the water, one at a time; drain. Till each with part of the meat mixture, using a long-handled spoon.
5. Pour half of the hot Cheddar Cheese Sauce into the bottom of a shallow, 12-cup flameproof dish. Place filled manicotti on the cheese sauce. Top with remaining sauce.
6. Broil, 4 inches from heat, 5 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
