Man Loving Beef Stew Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 lbs. chuck cut for stew | ||
| 3 T. vegetable fat | ||
| Onion | 1 Medium, minced | |
| 1 leek, white part only (or chives) | ||
| Flour | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |
| Thyme | 1/4 Tablespoon | |
| Boiling water | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Bouillon cubes | 3 | |
| Tomatoes | 10 Ounce, minced | |
| 4 carrots, 1/2 inch chunks | ||
| Red potatoes | 4 Medium | |
| White onions | 12 Small | |
| 2 dashes Tabasco sauce | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Saute meat in fat until light brown.
Sprinkle leek (chives) and onion over meat.
Mix well, saute 5 minutes more.
Sprinkle flour over meat.
Mix well.
Add bay leaf, thyme, boiling water, bouillon cubes and tomatoes.
Stirring well.
Add 1 t.salt and 1/8 t.pepper.
Bring to a boil.
Skim.
Reduce heat and simmer slowly for 2 hours.
Add carrots, onions and potatoes.
Simmer until vegetables are done.
Skim fat.
Add Tabasco sauce and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Serves 4 hungry people.
