Make-Ahead Beef Tacos Recipe
Ingredients
Salad oil
3/4 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp. salt
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1/4 tsp. Tabasco
3/4 tsp. chili powder
1/2 c. shredded cheese
1/2 tortillas
Shredded lettuce
Pepper
Directions
Heat 1 tablespoon salad oil in skillet.
Add beef and brown, breaking up with a fork.
Sprinkle with salt.
Combine tomato sauce and tabasco; add to beef with chili powder.
Simmer, stirring occa sionally, until liquid evaporates, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Add cheese; stir until partially melted.
Cool.
Dip each tortilla in hot fat until soft, about 3 seconds.
Fold in half on absorbent paper.
Fill each one third full with beef mixture.
Wrap individually in saran Wrap.
Freeze.
Place tacos in shallow 12 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.
Bake, uncov ered, in 400 degree oven for 15 minutes.
Fill tacos with shreddedlettuce; drizzle 1/2 teaspoon salad oil over lettuce in each taco.
