Ingredients

 Cucumber1 Large, cut into pieces (Ingredients:)
 2 long spring curry leaves
 2 cups butter milk or plain yogurt
 Salt To Taste (Ingredients:)
 Oil2 Teaspoon (For Seasoning:)
 Mustard seeds1/2 Teaspoon (For Seasoning:)
 Bengal Gram 1/2 Tablespoon, soaked (For Masala:)
 Coconut1/2 Cup (16 tbs), grated (For Masala:)
 Coriander seeds2 Teaspoon (For Masala:)
 Cumin seeds1 Teaspoon (For Masala:)
 Mustard seeds1/2 Teaspoon (For Masala:)
 6 pepper corns
 Green chillies5 (For Masala:)
 1 & half tsp. grated, ginger
 Turmeric powder1/2 Teaspoon (For Masala:)
 Asafoetida1/4 Teaspoon (For Masala:)
 Curry leaves8 (For Masala:)
 2 tsp. chopped coriander leaves

Directions

Grind all the masala ingredients with water to a fine paste.(not too liquid neither too thick)
Boil the cucumber with water until soft. Add curry leaves, salt and ground paste and bring it to boil for
10 minutes. Remove form the heat add yogurt and mix thoroughly.
Heat oil in a pan, add seasonings when it starts to split, stir into the yogurt mix.
Serve with rice

This is very interesting, I have not eaten this before. I just picked 8 long cucumbers (the Asian type) from my garden I will try this recipe soon. Do you eat this with only rice or is it sometimes eaten with sonething else?
