Ingredients
12 small whole Bombay ducks cleaned, heads, tails and fins removed
2 large onions finely chopped
1 teaspoon cumin seeds, coarsely ground
5 green chillies, finely chopped
1/2 bunch fresh coriander, finely chopped
2 sprigs curry leaves
2 tablespoons rice flour
2 tablespoons crushed garlic, salt, oil
How to make Maiji No Taja Boomla No Has
1. Place onions and half a cup oil in a vessel over a low fire and cook till soft and pink. Add the garlic, cumin seeds, green chillies and curry leaves. Cook for two minutes and add the rice flour. Mix vigorously for two minutes and add three cups of water and allow to boil. Taste for salt.2. Place the salted Bombay ducks in the boiling gravy for five to seven minutes and remove from the fire. Sprinkle the coriander on top of the gravy.
