Mackerel Spread Recipe
This delicious Mackerel Spread should not be missed. A lovely seafood filling foe sandwiches, this Mackerel Spread is simply yummy! Try it for yourself!
Ingredients
1 x 7 oz can mackerel in tomato sauce
1/2 cup grated brick cheese
Salt and pepper
2 baps
Butter
Directions
Place the mackerel with its sauce in a bowl and flake with a fork.
Add the cheese and salt and pepper to taste and mix well.
Cut the baps in half and spread with butter.
Pile the mackerel mixture on top and place under a preheated moderate grill (broiler) for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve with a crisp green salad.
Cooking time: 10 minutes Variation: Canned sardines or sild can be used in place of the mackerel.
Vary the type of cheese for a different flavour too.
