Mackerel In White Wine Recipe
Ingredients
| Mackerel | 4 Small | |
| Butter | 15 Gram | |
| Carrot | 1 Small, thinly sliced | |
| Onions | 2 Small, thinly sliced | |
| Lemon Slices | 2 | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Ground black pepper | 1 To taste | |
| 3 dl. dry white wine | ||
| Chopped parsley | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Mackerel are excellent cooked this way, for a meal starter or supper dish.
Clean and wash the mackerel.
Butter a shallow ovenproof dish and strew the carrot, onions and lemon over the base.
Arrange the fish on top.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and pour the wine over.
Scatter the herbs on top.
Cook in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, basting now and then.
Leave to cool in the liquid, and serve when cold.
For an elegant meal the cooked mackerel can be skinned and filleted, covered with the strained and reduced cooking liquor, and sprinkled with chopped fresh herbs.
