Mace Nut Drops Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups biscuit mix
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground mace
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 cup peanuts, chopped
Directions
1. Combine biscuit mix, sugar and mace in medium-size bowl; cut in shortening with pastry blender.
2. Blend in egg and milk; sprinkle peanuts on dough and partly fold in. (If peanuts are very salty, rub between paper towels before chopping.)
3. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 1 inch apart, onto greased cookie sheets.
4. Bake in moderate oven (375°) 8 minutes, or until golden brown; remove with spatula and cool completely on wire racks.
