Moroccan Almond Snake Pastry Recipe Video
How to make M'Hanncha a traditional Moroccan pastry that looks like a coiled snake. It is filled with a scented almond paste and dipped in honey syrup. Totally unique and delicious!

GETTING READY
1 Lightly brush a baking dish with butter.
2 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
MAKING
3 For the Filling, in a blender jar combine all the filling ingredients.
4 Blend until you get a smooth paste.
5 Remove the phyllo dough from the pack and cover with a damp cloth.
6 Roll the almond paste as shown in the video.
7 Brush three sheets of phyllo dough with butter.
8 Place the rolled almond paste in the phyllo sheet and roll over as shown in the video.
9 Gently press the dough from the edges as demonstrated in the video.
10 Repeat the process with the remaining phyllo sheets.
11 Arrange the phyllo and almond paste rolls like a coil on the prepared baking dish.
12 Brush them with butter.
13 In a bowl, combine egg yolk with water and brush the top of the coil.
14 Place it in the oven and bake for 30 – 40 minutes or until golden brown.
15 Meanwhile, prepare the honey syrup, in a pan, warm the honey.
16 Add some orange blossom of water to the honey for flavor.
17 Pour the honey syrup on the baked m’hanncha and garnish with fried almonds.
SERVING
18 Serve along with Moroccon mint tea.

This M' Hanncha Moroccan Almond Pastry Video is really making my mouth water ! Alas, just watching such delicious food and not being able to have it right away is a tease ! However, there's another reason I can't think of indulging in this more though I'd love to... its so full of almond and butter. I"ll put on a lot of weight! :) :)

Hi Alia, yesterday I tried this almond pastry and it was very nice. I used mixed nuts with almonds in this recipe, I think that made the pastry more delicious. Thanks!
