Now, I have some onions in here that I've caramelized, and we're going to add in some extra lean ground beef, and this is another great way to reduce down the fat content in your recipes, is by using a very lean ground beef. And to this we're going to add our cumin. And this is a trick for all of you at home to enhance the flavor, because a lot of times low fat dishes don’t have a lot of flavor to them because they're missing the fat content. If you add in your spices when you're still sautéing and cooking things, what happens is you're actually, once again, caramelizing those spices, bringing out the flavors in them, and enhancing and building up that spectrum of flavors. So we're going to let this cook here, add a little bit of salt, a little bit of pepper to it, all kinds of good stuff, and keep cooking this up here, guys.

We're just going to add our pinto beans right into this, and I use the liquid and everything that goes into there. We're going to add about a half of the four ounces of green chilies to it, and also we're going to add some crushed tomatoes here. Once again, all tomato cans have different sodium contents in them, so be sure that you look at the sodium contents for the healthy cooking to make sure that you're getting the lowest sodium possible. It may not say it on the can, but you be a smart consumer and look at them [yourself]. We're going to let this cook for about 10 minutes, reduce down and enhance all of those flavors in there.
