Low Calorie Chocolate Mousse Recipe
Ingredients
| Unflavored gelatin | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Water | ||
| Unsweetened chocolate square | 1 | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Orange rind | 1 Teaspoon, grated | |
| Low-calorie liquid sweetener | ||
| Ice water | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cream of tartar | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| 2/3 cup dry nonfat milk powder | ||
Directions
Soften gelatin in 2 tablespoons water.
Melt chocolate with 1/4 cup water in top part of double boiler over hot water.
Stir until smooth; remove from heat.
Stir in gelatin until dissolved; add salt, vanilla, and orange rind; add sweetener according to directions on bottle.
Chill until mixture begins to thicken, stirring occasionally.
Pour ice water into small mixing bowl; add cream of tartar and nonfat dry milk.
With electric beater, beat for 5 minutes at high speed, until stiff peaks form.
Add chocolate mixture, beating at low speed.
Pour into 1-quart serving dish, refrigerator tray, or individual dishes; freeze until firm.
