1 beef flank steak
 
1 tablespoon minced onion
 
1 tablespoon salad oil
 
1 teaspoon salt
 
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened

Directions

1. Preheat broiler if manufacturer directs. With sharp knife, score both sides of flank steak for even broiling. Place steak on rack in broiling pan. In bowl, mix onion, salad oil, and salt. Rub mixture on both sides of steak.
2. Broil steak 5 minutes. Turn steak and broil 5 more minutes for rare or until of desired doneness.
3. To serve, place steak on carving board; spread with butter. With knife held in slanting position almost parallel to the cutting surface, cut thin slices across width of steak.
