Ingredients

 
8 slices Russian rye bread
 
Bottled mustard sauce
 
8 slices smoked liver sausage (4 to 5 ounces)
 
4 slices process Swiss cheese, halved lengthwise (4 ounces)
 
4 green pepper rings
 
1 8 ounce can sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
 
Snipped parsley
 
Butter or margarine, melted (optional)

Directions

Spread bread with mustard sauce.
On each of 4 slices bread, place 2 slices liver sausage, 2 pieces cheese, 1 green pepper ring, one fourth of the sauerkraut, and some parsley.
Top with remaining bread.
Serve cold or brush with butter and grill on both sides.
Makes 4 sandwiches.
