Linguine With Baby Clams In Tomato Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

 
3/4 lb. linguine
 
1/3 cup oil
 
1 onion, chopped
 
16 oz. crushed tomatoes, with juice (preferably Italian plum)
 
8 basil leaves (1 1/2 tsp. dry)
 
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
 
5 oz. baby clams
 
Parmesan cheese to taste

Directions

Cook in boiling water until firm to the bite (al dente).
Drain.
Set aside.
Meanwhile, prepare sauce.
In large skillet, cook onions in oil until soft.
Add and cook on a low heat for approx 15 minutes, until thickened.
Add to above and cook 5 more minutes.
Add cooked pasta to sauce, mix well, and serve with Parmesan cheese.
