Ingredients

 250 g / 1/2 lb brown lentils, soakedjor 1-2 hr.
 1.8 l / 3 pt / 7 1/2 cups beef stock
 Butter2 Tablespoon
 1 onion, peeled and chopped
 Carrots2 , chopped
 2 legs of celery, chopped
 4 frankfurters, cut into rings
 Salt To Taste
  black pepper1

Directions

Heat butter in a saucepan, and gently fry vegetables until soft.
Add lentils and stock, and simmer for 1 1/2-2 hr, or until lentils are cooked.
Add frankfurters 30 min before serving.
Season with salt and pepper.
