Ingredients

 8 oz. washed lentils, soaked overnight, optional
 Little chopped bacon
 Onion1 , chopped
 Carrot1 , chopped
 1 pint stock or water
 Little chopped thyme or parsley
 Seasoning
 Butter1 Ounce
 Flour1/2 Ounce
 Milk1/2 Pint
 Chopped parsley

Directions

Put the lentils, bacon, chopped onion, carrot and stock or water into a pan.
Add thyme or parsley and simmer gently for about 1 1/2 hours.
Sieve the mixture.
Meanwhile make a very thin sauce with the butter, flour and milk.
Add the lentil puree and reheat.
Season to taste.
Garnish with chopped parsley.
