Lentil Soup Recipe
Thanks to my neighbor for sharing this excellent lentil soup recipe. It is generally eaten as a tasty appetizer. Do try out this great lentil soup recipe.
Ingredients
3/4 cup lentils
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 large onion, chopped
1 carrot, diced
2 ribs celery, sliced
2 tomatoes, chopped
1/4 tsp. dried marjoram
Salt and pepper
3 3/4 cup beef broth
1 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
1/2 lb. bacon
Directions
Wash the lentils; place in the slow cooking pot.
Just cover with cold salted water; cover and cook on low overnight.
Drain off any surplus liquid.
Add the garlic, onion, carrot, celery, tomatoes, bacon, marjoram, salt, pepper, red pepper and beef broth.
Cover and cook on low heat.
Add more broth if necessary.
Cook on low 8 to 10 hours.
