Lemon Sugar Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
3/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
Cream butter with lemon peel and juice; add the sugar gradually, creaming until fluffy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together; add in fourths to creamed mixture, mixing until blended after each addition.
Chill dough thoroughly.
Roll a third of dough at a time 1/8 inch thick; cut with 21/4 inch round or fancy cutter.
Transfer to ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 325°F 15 to 18 minutes.
