5 teaspoons of cooking oil
 
Black mustard seeds
 
Cumin seed (jeera)
 
Green chilli pieces
 
Ginger pieces
 
Curry leaves
 
A pinch of asafetida (hing)
 
A pinch of turmeric (haldi)
 
Split Bengal gram (chana dal)
 
Split Green gram (moong dal)
 
Lime juice
 
Salt
 
Cooked and cooled rice.

Directions

Heat about 5 teaspoons of cooking oil, heat it , add in sequence black mustard seeds, jeera, green chilli peices, ginger peices, curry leaves, a pinch of hing and a pinch of haldi .. then the chana dall and moong dall wait for the chana dall to brown and turn off the heat at this stage .. add lime juice and salt into the fried mass.. add cooked and cooled rice .. add finely chopped cilantro, stir thoroughly to mix and ....
EAT !
Note: you can add peanuts with the moong dall and chana dall if you are so inclined but make sure they are fully fried before turning off the heat .
