 Cooked rice1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
 Split black gram1 Tablespoon (urad dal)
 Split gram1 Tablespoon (chana dal)
 Mustard seeds1 Tablespoon
 Dried red chilies2
 Split green chili1
 Asafoetida1 Pinch
 Peanuts1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
 Vegetable oil2 Tablespoon
 Turmeric powder1⁄2 Teaspoon
 Salt To Taste
 Lemon juice4 Tablespoon

Directions

Heat 2 tblspn oil in a shallow pan , add asafoetida , add mustard seeds let it crackle then add split black gram ,split gram(chana dal).
add dried red chilies, split green chilies (optional) ,curry leaves and cook for a minute till the grams change colour to light brown.
now add peanuts ,turmeric powder ,lime juice,salt to taste and saute it for about a minute .at last add rice and mix it thouroughly.
let it stand for a minute or two.serve it hot.

Classic Pulihora/Puliogare/Lemon Rice recipe. Try adding a few boiled kabuli channa/chickpeas to the seasoning. The chickpeas while boiling in lemon juice will soak up a little of the juice and acquire a tangy taste.
