Lemon Popovers Recipe
Ingredients
| Vegetable oil | ||
| Or bread flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Whole milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Egg whites | 2 | |
| Sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Lemon juice | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 2 teaspoons grated lemon rind | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Heavily grease a popover pan with vegetable oil, and set aside.
Combine flour and remaining ingredients in a large bowl; stir with a wire whisk until smooth.
Pour batter evenly into prepared pan.
Place in a cold oven.
Turn oven on 450°, and bake 15 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350°, and bake an additional 35 to 40 minutes or until popovers are crusty and brown.
