Lemon-Orange Ice Recipe
Ingredients
| Sugar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Unflavored gelatin | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Cold water | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Boiling water | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Orange or lemon | 1 Cup (16 tbs), strained | |
| Lemon extract, if desired | ||
| Egg whites | 2 , beaten | |
Directions
Boil the 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1 1/2 cups water together rapidly for 10 minutes to make a syrup.
Measure 1 1/3 cups of the syrup; reserve.
Soften gelatin in the cold water; then dissolve in the boiling water.
Add fruit juice, syrup, and a few drops of lemon extract.
Freeze until mushy.
Put mixture into a bowl; add egg whites; beat until smooth and fluffy.
Freeze until firm.
