 Pitted dates1 Cup (16 tbs), snipped

 1 baked 9-inch pastry shell
 Pudding mix3 Ounce
 Sugar1/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Water2 1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Egg1 , beaten
 1 2-ounce package dessert topping mix

Directions

In saucepan combine dates, honey, 1/4 cup water, and lemon juice.
Bring to boiling.
Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes, stirring often.
Add nuts; cool.
Turn into pastry shell.
In saucepan combine pudding mix and sugar; stir in 2 1/4 cups water.
Add egg.
Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly; cook 2 minutes more.
Cover with waxed paper; cool without stirring.
Pour over date mixture in shell.
Cool.
Prepare topping mix following package directions; spread atop.
Chill.
