Directions
Rub margarine over the chicken.
Salt the chicken inside and out and place half the lemon in the chicken cavity.
Sprinkle the cavity and breast with paprika.
Cross the chicken legs and tie them together; then tuck the wings behind the back.
Line the bottom of a large paper bag with one piece of waxed paper.
Place the bag on a rack in a shallow roasting pan.
Place the chicken on the waxed paper breast-side up.
Spread the sides and top of the bag so the paper is not touching the chicken.
Tie the bag shut with string, or fold the top and close it with staples or paper clips.
Bake the chicken in a 425°F oven for 1 hour.
Reduce the heat to 400°F and bake for 30 more minutes.
Remove roasting pan from oven and cut open the paper bag.
Remove chicken, being careful not to spill the drippings.
Cut chicken into quarters and serve with drippings.
