4 onions
1 tbs. fat (or butter)
1 tbs. flour
2 tbs. vinegar
2/3 cup bouillon or 1/3 cup water with 1/3 cup tomato juice
Salt and pepper
1 lb. cooked beef
Bread crumbs
Directions
Slice onions and brown in fat.
Add flour and brown.
Then add vinegar, bouillon or water and tomato sauce (or tomato juice).
Cook together until slightly thickened, stirring constantly.
Season with salt and pepper.
Simmer sliced or cubed beef in sauce a few minutes.
Pour into baking dish, sprinkle with crumbs and bake in a hot oven (400F) 10 minutes.
