Yummy Leek And Ham Flan Recipe
Ingredients
| Plain flour | 100 Gram (For the pastry:) | |
| Margarine | 25 Gram (For the pastry:) | |
| Lard | 25 Gram (For the pastry:) | |
| 1 x 75 ml spoon cold water | ||
| Butter | 25 Gram (For the filling:) | |
| 1 leek, washed and finely sliced | ||
| Cooked ham | 100 Gram, chopped (For the filling:) | |
| Ground black pepper | 1 To taste (For the filling:) | |
| Egg | 1 (For the filling:) | |
| Single cream | 150 Milliliter (For the filling:) | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
Directions
MAKING
1.Take a bowl, sift flour in it.
Put the ftas in it and use fingertipes to make a mixture similar to breadcrumbs.
2.Put water and turn the mixture into dough.
3.Take a 7inches plain flan ring, turn out the dough on it and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
4.Once the pastry is set, put greaseproof papers and bean in it and bake the pastry alone for 15 minutes.
5.Once done, take off the paper and beans.
6.Take a small pan, heat butter in it and stir in leek.
7.Cook on low flame until leek is tender; avoid browning.
8.Strain the leek and transfer it to the flan case en, defrostalong with ham.
9.Mix seasoning, cream and egg and put in the flan.
10.Bake the flan for 25-30 minutes so that the filling is set.
SERVING
11.Serve the flan in a dish.
Tip
The flan can be frozen for later use in polythene bag. For serving when frozen, defrost in refrigerator overnight and then heat at 180 C for 5- 10 minutes until heated.
