Lebkuchen Recipe

Ingredients
1 egg
1 cup honey
3/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 4-ounce can walnuts finely chopped
1 4-ounce container diced candied citron minced
1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar
5 teaspoons water
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions
1. Into large bowl, measure first 10 ingredients and 1 1/2 cups flour. With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until blended. With wooden spoon, stir in nuts, citron, and remaining flour.
2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease cookie sheet. Drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls, 1 inch apart, onto cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cookie comes out clean. Remove cookies to wire racks to cool. Repeat with remaining dough.
3. In bowl, mix confectioners' sugar, water, and vanilla; drizzle on cookies. When icing is dry, store cookies in tightly covered container.
