Layer Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| First Layer | ||
| Vegetable shortening | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 Small, beaten | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Flour | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Second layer | ||
| Brown sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Nuts | 3/4 | |
| Egg whites | 2 | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1)Preheat oven to 325 degrees
MAKING
2)In a bowl, cream the shortening and sugar and eggs.
3)Add salt and vanilla to this mix,
4)In a bowl, sift the flour and baking powder
5)Add to sugar mixture
6)Take a medium size cookie pan,grease it and pour the mixture.
7)For the second layer,take a bowl, add the brown sugar, vanilla and chopped nuts
8)Now fold the egg whites and spread over the first layer
9) Bake this for 30 minutes or more till light brown
SERVING
10)Cut into squares and let it cool.
