Ingredients
Lauki/Dudhi/Bottle Gourd - 1 Medium sized
Onions - 1/4rth cup
Curry leaves - a few
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cumin ( Jeera) seeds - 1 tsp
Milk - 1/2 cup
Coconut powder - 1 tsp
Dhaniya powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder, salt & chilly powder - as per taste
Directions
Scrape the skin & cut the bottle gourd into small cubes.
Heat oil in a skillet. Add mustard seeds & allow them to splutter; Then add cumin seeds, onions, ginger garlic paste, curry leaves, turmeric powder & saute until onions turn golden brown.
Add the chopped lauki pieces. Add salt & chilly powder. Add half cup milk & cover with lid.
Cook until the pieces turn tender. Add dhaniya powder & coconut powder. Mix well & cook another 2 minutes.
Serve Hot with Rotis/Rice.

I usually don't like lauki. It needs to prepared with so many seasonings and spices. But with coconut and onion flavorings it should taste good.

Always wanted to know how to cook lauki.

Lauki is considered a very healthy vegetable and
a body coolant. Good for summer meals.
