Cheese Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients

 
1 lb. ground beef
 
1/2 cup onion, chopped
 
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
 
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
 
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
 
1 1/2 teaspoons oregano
 
1 3/4 teaspoons basil
 
3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
 
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
 
1 (12 oz.) carton small curd cottage cheese
 
1 egg, beaten
 
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles, cooked
 
2 (6 oz.) pkgs. mozzarella cheese, sliced
 
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

In 2 quart casserole, place beef and onion.
Cover.
Microwave at high (10) 5 to 7 minutes, until beef is thoroughly cooked; stir after 3 minutes.
Drain.
Add oil, tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, garlic salt and parsley flakes.
Set aside.
In small mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, egg and seasoned salt.
In 2 quart oblong glass baking dish, spread 1/3 of meat sauce over bottom.
Top with half of lasagna noodles, half of cottage cheese mixture and half of mozzarella cheese.
Repeat layers, ending with meat sauce and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
Insert metal accessory rack.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cook on Combination Code 4, 25 to 30 minutes.
TO COOK BY CONVECTION: Insert metal accessory rack.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes.
