Lamb Hash Gratine Recipe

Ingredients
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 cups finely chopped cooked lamb
6 medium potatoes, cooked and diced
1 green pepper, finely chopped
1/4 cup chili sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/3 cup grated American cheese
1/3 cup coarse bread crumbs
Directions
Heat oven to 400° F. (hot).
Combine lamb, gravy, bouillon, onions, peas, celery, thyme and allspice.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Turn into a 2 1/2-quart greased casserole, or 6 individual greased casseroles.
Bake uncovered in 400° F. oven for 15 minutes.
Beat potatoes, buttermilk, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt and brown sugar.
Arrange on top of casserole or casseroles as the case may be.
Return to the oven and continue to bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until topping is heated through and lightly browned.
