Lamb Ragout Recipe
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds lamb cubes
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup shortening
1 can (10 1/2 ounces) condensed tomato soup
1 soup can water
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon caraway seed (optional)
3 medium potatoes, quartered
1/2 medium cabbage, cut in wedges
Directions
Dust lamb with flour; brown in shortening in large heavy kettle or pot.
Add soup, water, salt, pepper, garlic, and caraway seed.
Cover; simmer 1 hour; stir often.
Add potatoes to broth; cover and cook 15 minutes.
Lay cabbage on top.
Cover; cook 30 minutes more or until meat and vegetables are tender.
