Lamb Fricassee Recipe

Haven't tried this yummy Lamb Fricassee recipe, yet? I am sure you will love it! Whenever I have Greek friends visiting, I always prepare Lamb Fricassee which is the most savored dish of their cuisine. Lamb Fricassee makes a yummy Side Dish. You do not need to be a gourmet to gauge how delicious and flavorful this dish is.

Ingredients

 
3 pounds lamb shoulder, cubed
 
2-3 stalks celery, cut in sections
 
5-6 potatoes, peeled
 
1 cup fide
 
5-6 small onions, peeled
 
2 eggs
 
2-3 carrots, scraped and cut in
 
1 1/2 lemons, juice of sections
 
Salt and pepper

Directions

Cover lamb with water and bring to a boil.
Add salt and pepper, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
Add vegetables, cover, and simmer for 1 hour or until lamb and vegetables are tender.
Carefully remove meat and vegetables to a warm platter and keep hot.
Strain broth.
Add fide and additional salt, if necessary, and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until fide is tender.
Beat eggs with lemon juice.
Very slowly beat in about 1 cup of the hot broth, then add to broth, stirring vigorously, until sauce mixes with the broth.
