Laban Oumu- Lamb And Yogurt Stew Recipe
Ingredients
2 pounds lean lamb, cut in chunks
Water
1 teaspoon salt
2 pounds onions, peeled and cut in chunks
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup water
3 cups yogurt
Hot cooked rice or quick-cooking cracked wheat
Chopped mint
Directions
Just cover the lamb with water.
Add the salt; bring to a boil and skim; add the onions.
Simmer for 30 minutes, or until just tender.
In another pan, blend the cornstarch with the 1/2 cup cold water and beat in yogurt until smooth.
Simmer, stirring, until thickened.
Add the meat mixture and continue to simmer until very tender, about 30 minutes longer.
