Korean Broiled Meat Recipe
Ingredients
3 lbs. lean beef (select round steak, short ribs, sirloin or similar cut)
Meat tenderizer
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sesame oil (or salad oil)
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. monosodium glutamate
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 green onions, chopped
2 tbs. sesame seeds, browned and crushed
Directions
If round steak or other boneless meat is used, cut into pieces about 3-inches square and about 1/3-inch thick.
Pound the meat and score thoroughly, cutting in both directions.
If short ribs are used remove bones and cut slices as directed above.
Score thoroughly.
Treat with tenderizer following directions on jar.
Combine remaining ingredients and soak meat in this marinade for 1 hour or more.
Drain meat and place on rack.
Broil each side from 5 to 10 minutes or until brown, basting with marinade once on each side.
