Kolak Pisang, is a smooth dessert made with banana and palm fruit. Palm sugar is a special ingredient, authentically Javanese palm sugar is used. Kolak pisang is a much loved dessert in Indonesia and neighboring countries.

Recipe Story

Kolak Pisang, is dessert which I initially did not like at all, because of the thought of stewing bananas. But a mere tasting removed all my blockades and Kolak pisang became a favored dessert.

Ingredients

 Pandan leaf - 1
 Palm Sugar - 2 big cubes
 Palm Fruit - 1 can
 Large cassava - 3
 Bananas15
 Large sweet potato - 5
 Coconut milk - 1 can, add 2 cup of water
 Sugar1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon

Directions

GETTING READY
1. Peel skin from sweet potato and cassava, wash clean, cut into small cubes, place in a boiling pan.
2. Peel the banana skin, make small cuts and place in the boiling pan along with sweet potato and cassava.
3. Cut half each palm fruit and put into the boiling pan as well.
4. Tie knot the pandan leaf and add it into the pan.

MAKING
5. Add sugar, salt, palm sugar, coconut milk, and the water into the pan .
6. Bring to boil everything inside the pan until cassava and sweet potato become tender, taste the soup if its sweet enough for you, turn off the stove.

SERVING
7. Serve warm or cold
