Kolachy Recipe
This Kolachy is the best of its kind. You might know this as Kolachky or kolche . Try this spicy apricot, prune, orange and poppy seed filled dessert bake. Feel free to suggest here about this Kolachy .
Ingredients
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1/3 cup warm water (105°-115°F)
2-2 1/2 cups flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground mace
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/3 cup warm milk (105°-115°F)
1 egg
Glaze
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon water
Fillings
Poppy Seed-Fruit
12 prunes or dried apricots, mashed
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon poppy seeds Prune

2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
Apricot
24 dried apricots
1/4 cup sugar
Prune-Apricot
6 prunes
12 dried apricots
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon orange juice
1/2 tablespoon grated orange peel
Directions
1 Dissolve yeast in warm water. Set aside for 5 minutes. Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, salt, mace, lemon peel, and butter in mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly.
2 Add yeast mixture, warm milk, and egg. Mix thoroughly.
3 Add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth€”about 10 minutes.
4 Place in greased bowl, turning to coat top. Cover; let rise in warm place until double€”about 1 hour.
5 Punch down dough. Let rise again until double€”about 30 minutes.
6 Prepare any of the fillings below. After dough rises, shape dough into (a) squares or (b) ovals.
(a) Squares: Cut into 3-inch squares. Put 1 heaping teaspoon of filling on each. Fold corners into center and press firmly.
(b) Ovals: Roll balls of dough into ovals. Place 1 heaping teaspoon of filling on one side of each. Fold other side over. Pinch edges together tightly.
7 Place on greased baking sheet. Let rise until not quite double€” about 15 minutes. Make glaze and brush on loaf.
8 Bake in a preheated 350°F oven 15-18 minutes or until done. Cool on wire rack.
