King Ranch Chicken Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 fryer chicken, boiled & cut into bite-sized pieces | ||
| 1 lg. pkg. cheese flavored corn chips | ||
| 1 lb. grated medium cheddar cheese | ||
| Tomatoes | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| 1 can cream of mushroom soup | ||
| Cream of chicken soup | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Onion | 1 Large, chopped | |
| Bell pepper | 1 To taste, chopped | |
| Chili powder | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Garlic salt | 1 Dash | |
| Bacon fat | 2 Tablespoon | |
Directions
To make sauce, saute onion and pepper in bacon fat in large skillet.
Add soups and tomatoes until well blended; then add chili powder and garlic.
In 3-qt. casserole, layer chips, chicken, cheese and sauce.
Layer again with all, ending with cheese.
Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.
