I do not exactly remember from where I got this Kidney And Red Wine Stew recipe. I did make a few variations but the very fact that it turned out good is what made me write this Kidney And Red Wine Stew recipe for you. Try it!
Ingredients
3 pounds beef kidneys, trimmed and cubed
2 garlic cloves, split
1 cup chopped onions
Bacon fat
Flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cups red wine
1 1/2 cups consomme .
Directions
1) Saute the garlic and onions in the bacon fat.
2) Coat the kidneys with the flour, place in the skillet, and cook until browned.
3) Lightly season with salt and pepper, add the red wine and consomme, and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until kidneys are tender.
