Khichdi Recipe
Khichree is very healthy and easy to cook Dish. The garam masala with malka dal maked the Khichree a very nutritious dish.

| Basmati rice | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Masoor | 2 Cup (16 tbs), soaked | |
| Oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1 tsp cummin seeds | ||
| Onion | 1 , chopped | |
| 6 chopped cloves of garlic | ||
| 1" broken pieces of cinnamon | ||
| WHOLE GARAM MASALA | ||
| Cloves | 6 | |
| Cardamoms | 4 | |
| Peppercorns | 6 | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |
| Coconut | 2 Tablespoon, grated | |
| Turmeric powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Mix oil, cummin seeds, onion, garlic, cinnamon, whole garam masala and bay leaf in a large bowl and microwave covered for 3 minutes.
Mix in the coconut and turmeric powder and microwave further for 1 minute.
Mix in the rice, dal with water and salt and microwave for 20 minutes.
If you prefer to have a mushy Khichree, pour in an additional cup of hot water, and microwave further for 5-7 minutes.
Let it stand for 5 minutes, then fork it to loosen up the grains of rice.
When reheating at the time of serving stir in 1/2 cup water and microwave for 5 minutes.
Mix in the coconut and turmeric powder and microwave further for 1 minute.
Mix in the rice, dal with water and salt and microwave for 20 minutes.
