Rice - 1/2 kg
 
Orange color - 1/2 tsp
 
Green cardamoms - 6
 
Milk - 1 3/4 cups
 
Raisins - 60 gms
 
Pistachios - 15 gms
 
Kewra flavor - 2 tsps
 
Ghee - 150 gms
 
Sugar - 300 gms
 
Cloves - 4
 
Water - 4 1/2 cups
 
Almond - 60 gms
 
Kesar - 1/4 tsp
 
Silver leaves - 4

Directions

GETTING READY
1 Wash the rice and soak in water for 25 minutes.

MAKING
2 In a pan, heat sugar along with 1 cup water until syrupy.
3 In another pan heat the ghee with cloves and cardamoms,.
4 Add in the rice, orange color, water and cook on a low heat until the water is evaporated.
5 Pour in the milk, and syrup.
6 In a small bowl, dissolve kesar in a little water.
7 Stir into the rice.
8 Cook on low heat until the rice is done.
9 Stir in blanched almonds, raisins, and pistachio slices and cover the pan.

SERVING
10 Serve hot decorated with silver leaves.
