Kelphulachi Bhaji Recipe

I have lots of banana trees in my garden.I make chips or bhaji with these bananas.My gardener got fresh banana flower from the tree and so i decided to prepare Kelphulachi Bhaji/Banana Flower Chi Bhaji.

Ingredients

 Kelphul1 Medium (Banana Flower)
 Val1 Cup (16 tbs), sprouted (Dalimbi Usal/ Field Beans)
 Onion1 Small, chopped
 Turmeric powder1⁄2 Teaspoon
 Red chilly powder1 Teaspoon
 Tamarind1 Teaspoon
 Coriander jeera powder1 Teaspoon
 Oil2 Teaspoon
 Mustard seeds1⁄2 Teaspoon
 Asafoetida1⁄2 Pinch
 Salt To Taste
 Jaggery To Taste
 Water1 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

GETTING READY
1)Remove the outer red leaf of banana flower,separate the inner white stalk and flower,and use this flower to prepare bhaji.

MAKING
2)Chop Kelphul/banana flower and soak it in water overnight adding tamarind.
3)Next day remove tamarind and water from the Kelphul.
4)Heat oil in a pan add asafoetida,mustard seed and turmeric powder.Add onion and saute for 10 minutes.Once onion becomes translucent add val,coriander jeera powder,red chilly powder,saute for 5-10 minutes adding chopped Kelphul.
5)Add little water and let it cook for sometime.Then add salt and jaggery in it.

SERVING
6)Serve it hot with chapatti.
