Ingredients

 
1/2 lb. butter
 
2 c. sugar
 
7 eggs
 
3/2 c. farina
 
4 tsp. baking powder
 
Dash of salt
 
3/2 c. ground walnuts
 
1/2 c. milk
 
2 tsp. vanilla
 
2 c. water
 
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Directions

Stage1-Cream butter, add 3/2 cup of sugar and continue creaming until light and fluffy.

Stage2- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Stage3-Add farina, baking powder, salt, walnuts, milk and vanilla, beating steadily.

Stage4-Pour into buttered 10" loaf pan.

Stage5-Bake at 375 degrees fareinhite for 50 minutes.

Stage6-While cake is baking make syrup.Place remaining 1/2 cup of sugar in pan, add water and lemon juice.

Stage7-Boil, then cook over low heat 12 minutes until thick.

Stage8-Pour over hot cake. May be served cold.
