Directions
Direct Heat Method: In a large saucepan, combine water and salt.
Bring to a rolling boil and stir in grain.
Bring to a boil again and boil for 2-3 minutes.
Cover and simmer for 1 1/2-2 hours or until the grain is tender and berries are plumped and a few have burst.
Remove from heat and drain.
To reduce cooking time you may prepare grain by soaking it in water overnight.
The next day, drain and then add to 3 cups boiling water.
Cover and simmer.
